Nusa Dua, 17th November, 2004
(Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia)
On 15th December 2004, Bali Hilton
International was contacted by both the US Embassy,
Jakarta and the Australian Consulate, Bali in
regards to a possible terrorist threat against
a western target in Indonesia. Although the Hilton
name was mentioned as a possible target, the threat
was by no means limited to Hilton Hotels only.
The threat did not indicate at all that it was
aimed specifically at Bali Hilton International.
The threat was taken seriously
by the Hotel and as a precaution, Bali Hilton
immediately took the necessary steps to further
raise the level of security awareness. The local
police has also provided immediate and proportionate
support in terms of manpower and logistics. After
having gone through the aftermath of 9/11 and
the previous Bali bombing incident, Bali Hilton
has beefed-up its security systems (including
CCTV monitors), procedures and, apparatus had
been significantly modified and improved. All
of these procedures have remained in place. The
Hotel has also received the highest rating in
terms of its security procedures and measures
taken in the newly implemented security evaluation
process by the local police force.
The Hotel remains in very close
contact with the Local Authorities, the police,
the Consulates and Embassies on any necessary
updates. Having been in the “people industry”,
Bali Hilton International recognizes the importance
of security to a traveler. The Management and
Staffs are fully committed to the safety and welfare
of each and every guests or customers.
