"Mejejahitan"
Course at the Bali Hilton International

In every Hindu ritual ceremony
in Bali, both at a temple or home, there are always
offerings presented to the Gods that comprise
a range of fruit, cakes, flowers and ornaments
made of young coconut leaves, which represent
philosophical values. The Bali Hilton International
invited a professional instructor on March 8,
2002 at the Samudra Room, to conduct course of
"Mejejahitan" (the plaiting of special
forms from young coconut leaves) for all employees,
which was also witnessed by enthusiastic guests.
The practice session started
by preparing offerings for "Otonan Madya",
a ritual ceremony for the child's first "
birthday" and the most elaborate of the rites
of passage, which continues to be celebrated every
six months. The practice then moved on to the
high style of ceremony involving both male and
female employees.
